Greetings from the current Board

04.04.2012
Dear Finance students and dear friends, The year has again changed and so has KY-Finance’s Board. The newly formed board has spent first months both in thinking of our mission, vision and strategy for 2012 and years to come, and superior events we are willing and ready to offer you. Once again we have fresh and unique ideas on how to further develop

KY-Finance’s events and even offer some events that have not been offered before. We have spent numerous hours in order to think how we can offer something tangible for all of you. Largest questions have been around that how we can ensure that each and every finance student can feel that we organize events which can help them to find their passion.

We understand that everyone is not pursuing to consulting or investment banking career and as a result we would like to show you also the other businesses as well. We want to show you what different fields (e.g. industry companies) can offer for finance students so that you would make a more sophisticated decision about your upcoming future as a graduate and future finance professional.

Naturally, we will continue our work in providing you information about high-class opening internship and job positions. We understand that these are one of the most tangible things we can offer you.

As I said, when our board took the charge, we wanted to start from the scratch. We thought about our value for finance students and thought about our mission, vision, strategy and goals. Nevertheless, this wasn’t enough. We determined to develop a new and fresh logo for KY-Finance. Although the old logo was good enough we thought that now is the time for development and freshness. In addition, we took a careful look at our marketing and communication. We noticed that in that area you could never be too active and this was preferred as one of our main goals. We made a decision that KY-Finance has to follow more actively the current development in communication and decided that we would invest in Facebook, where basically everyone is spending their spare time. We have spectacular ideas about our forth-coming Facebook and we hope that you all could enjoy that later this year. We will post our event calendar draft later this month and we hope that most of you will choose to attend. This will help you to understand our portfolio of offerings for you and maybe pick up some of your favorites, where not attending is not an adequate answer.

I want to highlight that we are there for you and trying to develop KY-Finance as much as possible to fit for your varying needs. So please make comments at our Facebook group, send emails to our email finance@kyweb.fi or tug at our sleeves at HSE. We really want that everyone is enjoying and having time of their lives, while studying in HSE. There are never too much unique ideas to share with us.

I wish you all have a pleasant spring with all of your school work. Hopefully most of you have secured the summer job already and the rest would get that within weeks. See you at our events and at school!

Cheers, Joona Kalliokoski

CoFi Champagne Draw with Danske Bank Corporate Finance

25.11.2011
For all of you working hard on the remaining Corporate Finance coursework, KY Finance would like to provide some purely extrinsic motivation in the form of the traditional CoFi champagne draw sponsored by Danske Bank Corporate Finance.

Each group that eventually receives at least 75% of the maximum points from the five assignments is eligible for the draw, so do strive to meet at least that mark. However, if luck is not what you believe in, you can also go for the second bottle of bubbly which is to be rewarded for the best, most professional case report.

The results will be announced on Thursday, December 15th at an after-exam event which is also sponsored by Danske Bank Corporate Finance. The exact time and location are to be announced later, but you may look forward to enjoying complimentary refreshments, speculating on your exam performance and chilling out before the well-deserved Christmas break. Stay tuned for more information on this event.

KY Finance wishes you the best of luck with the rest of the assignments!
